What to do if your body wax is sticky?
Find out why body wax sometimes feels sticky and how to easily fix it for smooth, hassle-free application.

Sticky body wax is a sign that something isn’t right – most often the reason is the temperature. If the wax is too cold, it won’t spread properly and will stick to your skin and spatula. In this video, we’ll show you how to recognize this problem and how to fix it for better results every time.
What you’ll need:
- Wax heater
- Body wax WaXx
- Spatula
Step-by-step: How to deal with sticky wax
Step 1: If the body wax is sticky, folds, or “tears” during application – it’s most likely too cold.
Step 2: Increase the temperature on the heater and wait a few minutes until the wax becomes smoother and more fluid.
Step 3: Stir with the spatula and check the consistency – it should look like thick honey, be elastic, and easy to spread.
Step 4: Scoop and apply with light, even pressure, creating a solid layer with a well-defined edge.
Tips from the WaXx Me team:
- Do not work with wax that is too thick or sticky – it will break and won’t grip the hairs properly.
- If you’re not sure, test the texture on your hand – it should glide smoothly without sticking.
With the right temperature and technique, the wax works for you – not against you. Check out our other videos for more useful tips.
