Preparation and aftercare for body waxing: useful tips
Discover the most important steps for preparation and post-wax care to achieve smoother results with less irritation.

Proper preparation and aftercare are just as important as the procedure itself. With a few simple actions before and after waxing, you can significantly reduce discomfort, prevent ingrown hairs, and prolong the results of your hair removal. In this video, we show you what to avoid and what you should do to enjoy healthy, smooth skin.
What you’ll need:
- WaXx body scrub
- Numbing spray
- WaXx post-wax oil
- Towel (optional)
Before body waxing: Prepare your skin properly
- Exfoliate your skin the day before
Use a sugar or coffee WaXx scrub to remove dead skin cells and prevent ingrown hairs.
- Dry the area well
Skin should be clean and completely dry before waxing – free of creams and oils.
- Apply numbing spray
This will reduce skin sensitivity, especially if you’re more sensitive to pain.
After body waxing: Soothe and protect your skin
- Apply WaXx post-wax oil
It removes any wax residue and soothes the skin.
- Keep skin dry for at least 2 hours after waxing
This will protect pores from irritation and infection.
Tips from the WaXx Me team:
- Do not wax immediately after working out or sun exposure.
- For best results, hair should be the length of a grain of rice (about 4–5 mm) – not too short and not too long.
- Take care of your skin regularly, not just on waxing day – it will thank you for it.
