What to do if your body wax is too runny?
Find out why body wax sometimes becomes too runny and how to easily bring it back to the right consistency – without starting over.

When body wax is too runny, it drips from the spatula, applies unevenly, doesn’t grip the hairs well, and can burn the skin. This usually happens when the wax is too hot. In this video, we’ll show you two easy methods to quickly fix the consistency.
What you’ll need:
- Wax heater
- Body wax WaXx
- Spatula
Method 1:
Step 1: If the body wax looks too runny and transparent – turn off the heater.
Step 2: Wait a few minutes until the temperature drops and the wax starts to thicken slightly.
Step 3: Stir with the spatula and check – you’re aiming for a consistency similar to thick honey.
Method 2:
Step 1: Lower the temperature or turn off the heater.
Step 2: Add a small amount of body wax from the jar to the already melted wax.
Step 3: Stir well – the new beads will melt gradually and thicken the mixture.
Step 4: If needed, repeat – add a bit more and stir until you get the desired texture.
Step 5: When the body wax looks elastic and doesn’t drip immediately from the spatula – you’re ready to start!
Tips from the WaXx team:
- If the body wax falls off the spatula immediately after scooping, it’s still too runny.
- Work calmly – the body wax will return to its perfect form with just a few adjustments.
With these two methods, you can easily fix overly runny wax and continue your waxing session without any trouble. More useful tips and techniques await you in our other videos.
